Agile, active, squabbling groups, often chasing one another. Often with New Holland Honeyeaters. Forages mostly for nectar, also insects gleaned from foliage, bark or taken mid-air.

Found in coastal heathlands, forests, woodlands, with a denseunderstorey of nectar-rich plants. Parks and gardens.
