Noisy, active and conspicuous. Perches patiently, often in the open to feed. Large insects caught in flight or mid-canopy. Tears away bark for spiders, grubs. Also takes fruit and nectar.

Found in coastal open woodlands, rainforests, mangroves and urban areas.
