Quiet, unobtrusive, prefering gloomy dense vegetation. Relatively tame. In feeding hangs sideways, perches, pounces mostly on insects from the ground to the mid-canopy. Sometimes eats seeds.

Found in coastal and upland rainforests and moist eucalypt forests with dense understorey, vine thickets.
